I had never heard anything by them before. I became confused very quickly. There was a mic on stage; they didn't use it. I was hoping that it was going to be the coolest intro I have ever seen, but what was an intro slowly turned a very long set of nothing but intro.
There talent as musicians was apparent from the very beginning of the set. They had a very slick guitarist who played with a real grace, and the xylophone was a very nice touch, and sounded great. The bassist and drummer were some of the best I have ever seen, playing jazz riffs that sounded spectacular. Still I felt that something was missing. I am a big fan of lyrics and good vocalists and having no vocals just didn't let this set work for me. It seemed to go from amazing section to amazing section but with a long interlude of the exact same rhythm all be it with a slightly different bass line each time.
I really should give them another shot, and I will, but for the mood I was in, I did not enjoy this set a great deal.
