This band has been around quite a while, and has gone through in many different forms. They started out with a guy named Chris Carrabba at the helm, when he left it started a great deal of controversy. They actually replaced him by holding tryouts for a new lead singer. They finally did replace him with a gentleman named Jason who sang for a band called Affinity.
Unfortunately I never got the chance
to see the band with Chris so I can't really compare, but I have seen him play
as Dashboard, so...meh, no I can't really compare. I was really looking
forward to seeing them, although I highly doubted that they would play any old
material. Well, they did play some old material and I was a little disappointed
anyway. Even though I must say that the best moments was hearing Snowbirds
and Townies as well as The Moon is Down.
Now I must clarify that the problem with their live show is neither
there sound nor the new lead singer. Jason is what saved the band, he played
to the crowd, and had tons of emotion. The problem was that it seemed more like
he was a solo artist rather than a member of a band. There is no question that
the rest of the band are talented and incredible musicians, but they don't move!
In a lot of ways they remind me of a Get Up Kids show, where if you know the
songs you will love it, but if not it will put you to sleep. Anyway, Jason Gleason
and some other guys, or err... Further Seems Forever is a great band, but a
sub par live act. If you know them and love them, then check them out, if not...
Save your cash.
